Mixed media audio installation (textile curtains, metal corner beads, masonry string, loudspeakers, metal wires) 2023.
Measurements (LxWxH): 10 x 6 x 7 meter
These curtains, forming a wave and being draped like a maze into which you can disappear, come from a closed building located at the psychiatric clinic Zon & Schild. The building is named Hebron. If you look closely, you will see a small label on each curtain. On these labels you can read which floor and the room numbers of the clients, the common rooms, the psychiatrist's office, etc. So they are not just curtains to hide behind, to peek through, but they lead you through this old psychiatric ward in their own way. The artist’s voice moves in-between the curtains via the 8 hanging speakers: telling stories, addressing the viewers, giving an intimate setting.
