About the film: Why do so many Dutch people struggle with their mental health? And why is there still a taboo on this? Hanna and Juda Verboom - like 1 in 4 Dutch people - have a mental health issue. In 'Samen uit de Schaduw' they go on a journey together with professionals and experts by experience to dive deeper into important topics around mental health. Their biggest discovery: "People need people."

'Ongezien leven. Over wat verborgen blijft voor de ander en voor onszelf' - Lezing met Boukje Grashuis, geestelijk verzorger op Zon & Schild. Een lezing over verborgen levens in de achterkamertjes in de psychiatrie en over alles wat tussen ons verborgen blijft.
De avond is gratis, toegankelijk en er is ruimte voor gesprek en drankjes.

An artist tour and communal reading event - The artist gives a tour amongst the works and share her experience as an artist-in-residence and how she reads the works. Next to this, for anyone who wants, we share selected texts together. Content that relates to the themes of the exhibition.
Come and share a poem, your own writing or a favourite piece of literature that relates to feeling seen, feeling safe or another theme you think is fit for this exhibition. An event with the artist who will share and read some of her own texts.
