It is exciting to announce that I have been invited by Beautiful Distress to take part of their Artist-in-Residence program in New York. During three months in 2021 I will be the artist in residence in the great city of New York within the Behavioral Health Center at Brooklyn’s Kings County Hospital.
Beautiful Distress draws attention to the suffering in psychiatry through art projects and is an organization that works towards removing stigma. The organization was founded on the idea that there is a lot of psychological suffering and that not enough people know about it and further that too little is being done about it. Beautiful Distress wants to use art to depict this suffering and thereby help alleviate and combat stigma with regard to psychiatry. The residency works with renowned artists who have shown affinity with the foundation's objectives in their work. You find more information regarding the residency via this link.
I am looking forward to share this coming adventure with you.
