BRONZE MEDAL WINNER AT 18th INTERNATIONAL TRIENNIAL of TEXTILE

‘Partition #8 (sound clouds & shields), iteration II’ was awarded the bronze medal at the 18th International Triennial of Textile!

The 18th International Triennial of Textile Lódz 2025 can be viewed at the Central Museum of Textiles and is open from October 11, 2025 till April 12, 2026.

Curated by Marta Kowalewska and Bukola Oyebode-Westerhuis.

On October 11 and 12, 2025, the 18th International Triennial of Textile opened at the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, the largest and oldest event in the world dedicated to contemporary textile art. This year’s edition has a special significance: the Triennial is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, and over half a century, it has established itself as one of the most important forums for artistic dialogue across borders.

Under the theme “Deconstruction / Reconstruction,” the Triennial reflects on the shifting realities of today’s world - the redefinition of values, identities, and cultural frameworks. It invites artists and audiences alike to critically examine the present and to imagine new ways of understanding and rebuilding the fabric of our shared experience.

This work was made possible with the kind support of Mondriaan Fund, The Amsterdam Fund for the Arts, the art foundation Beautiful Distress and Zon & Schild psychiatric hospital.

Thank you to the jury members, the curators for selecting this work and to the triennial and museum team. A special thank you to Ans Zandee and last but most important, thank you to all of you who have shared your stories and life journey with me in the process of making this work in the first place. Stigma surrounding our mental health is very real, one thing helping is talking about it and together shine a light in the dark.
